What is it about: This film would mark the first porn-comedy in Indian Cinema. The film moves around two friends who take off to Thailand in order to join hands with their friend in his business, as they’re not appreciated by their family and are branded useless. It is directed by Umesh Ghadge and produced by Ekta Kapoor.
Why it’s disappointing: I don’t understand where to start from, because the entire run time was a disappointment. You may ask then why review this film? Just a noble thought of not letting others endure the trauma what I went through watching this film.
The whole point of the film was to make an out and out porn-comedy. Well agreed, the makers forgot the sole purpose and made it a meat show with skimpily clad actresses showing off their assets. But they still claim in the end that they have respect for women which was heights of hypocrisy.
They were trolling many Bollywood films demeaning the titles, but when they do it has to be done religiously so that it justifies the spoof. But it wasn’t, the scenes where they mock other films looks so down market just like it’s a B-grade film.
Tusshar Kapoor can definitely say a BIG bye to his career, he can only be on his sister’s mercy. At one point thought he would stay for some time, but off lately the films he’s been coming up, there’s no chance he will make his space in the industry.
Aftab Shivdasani had bid goodbye, if he really wants to make it back I wonder why these kind of films. Krishna Abhishek was annoying with his loud mouth.
The ladies of the flick were ridiculously featured with no taste. Mandana Karimi plays the lead role, among the three ladies only she seemed a bit normal, may be due to the reason the other two being blown up like baboons. Gizele Thakral plastic overloaded with sleazy characterisation. Claudia Ciesla a polish model turned Bollywood actress made a fool of herself.
The rest of the supporting cast joined the bandwagon with no direction. The purpose of comedy was exploited, which literally gives you head ache with characters screaming and making sex noises that pierces through your ear drums in Dolby Digital.
Obviously we can’t look for logic in these kind of movies, at least there should be entertainment, when a director can’t achieve that I can only say good luck with your career. Just when you think you had enough of nonsense, you get to see Tusshar in ridiculous depiction of Vidya Balan from “Dirty Picture”, and to top that a climax which I wish could forget.
The technical team too did a terrible job. Zooming in on few parts is definitely not cinematography. And a editing which just gives you head ache. The music was equally bad, wonder what happened to Sajid-Wajid.
Watching this made me wonder Censor Board has no problem passing of these kind of movies with no cuts, but chop off a smooch in James Bond, which our Bollywood heroes are very fond of these days. CBFC should really be revamped.
What to watch out for: I really wish I could write something good in this section.
Verdict: A load of nonsense was fed to the audience by Umesh Ghadge in the name of porn-comedy. Which was enjoyed only by a bunch of midlife crisis men with cold stares from their wives. The first porn-comedy of India was a disaster produced by Ekta Kapoor.
