This combination created a nationwide magic when the film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa was released. And when the teaser for this short film was announced as VTV-2 the fans went crazy. Finally the short arrived on YouTube on May 20th and the reaction to it stupendous. The social media and MEME creators went haywire criticizing the short film.

You may ask why are the flawed characters in the short film are acceptable by the Indian audience when it comes from a South Indian director. But the same audience agrees with the international and other regional directors.  The answer is simple, there’s this relationship factor which tries hard to justify itself for being flawed. And the desperation to portray the negatives as positive. It was written all over this short film.

It’s pretty obvious that Gautham Menon is pacifying himself through his characters and speaking his mind. But the overly cheesy dialogues still hung-over VTV makes it sound too lame. The phone conversation seemed a little unreal and it definitely didn’t impress the audience. Hope the writing gets better and the inspiration is drawn from a better source.
