This is an upcoming Hollywood fantasy drama inspired by the book of the same name written by the world renowned J.K.Rowling. It is said, will be a spin-off from the Harry Potter film series and will be directed by David Yates, who have directed four of the films from the series.
The film will focus on the character “Newt Scamander”, but Rowling states that this will be neither a sequel nor a prequel to the “Harry Potter” films, but will be set in the same world as the Potter book series. This will be set 70 years prior to the Harry Potter films, 1920 New York.
Wondering who Newt Scamander is, well he might have got lost if you have just watched the movie and haven’t read the books. He happens to be the author of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” in the movie, his text books are approved at Howgarts for the students since its publication in 1927.
Newt Scamander will be played by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne and Collin Farrell will be playing the role of “Graves”. The rest of the cast include Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Joe Malone.
The shoot has begun since August 17th 2015 and is expected to hit the screens on November 18th 2016 in 3D and IMAX. The makers state that, it will be a trilogy.
