What is it about: It’s about a multi-millionaire, who due to his unfortunate accident is left helpless with his body paralysed. He seeks a man who can take care of him with all his personal needs. Just then a character enters in his life, and how he changes his life forms the crux of the story beautifully adapted by Vamsi Paidipally from “The Intouchables” by Olivier Nakache & Éric Toledano.
Why it’s disappointing: There are very minute details which one could point out as flaw in this film, and that can be ignored due to the soul this film has in the name of friendship.
What to watch out for: The strong suit of the film is its characters, who made this film very convincing and loveable. All of them were selected appropriately making their respective roles plausible.
Karthi as Seenu was the centre of attraction. I would say one of the best till date, of course after “Paruthiveeran”. He is one of those to whom acting is a child’s play. He carried the character so well and with such grace, that you tend to start falling in love with that character. His comedy timing and dialogue delivery are the best, which he does with great fun. Karthi becomes the soul of the film. An amazing work, which no one would point finger at.
Nagarjuna Akkineni as Vikramaditya, another character in the film with whom friendship agrees a lot. It’s heard that Nagarjuna wanted to make this film, when he saw the original and wanted to play the character of the paralysed millionaire. And he has done great justice to it, without losing the essence required for the character. His character might be on wheel chair the whole time, but even then he’s got the charm which lures the audience. A commendable job by him and a lovely one.
Tamannaah as Keerthi, she fit the role like it was tailor made for her. She looked ravishing in those designer suits and dresses. She brought a great charm to the character with her astounding beauty.
Prakash Raj as Prasad was hilarious and did a great job. And so was Kalpana who makes you laugh whenever she is on the screen.
There were quite a cameo’s in the film from that Shriya Saran’s is my favourite, she has a great charm and beauty which captivates you instantly. Then comes Anushka Shetty, who was perfect for that cameo.
The cinematography of the film was delectable and PS Vinod, did not compromise on anything and did a great job in capturing every moment with utmost love. That well edited by Praveen KL. The score of the film was great and how can it not be, Gopi Sunder one of my favourite and will be for long. The background score complimented the film.
Verdict: Vamsi is great at making emotional dramas, and this time he adapted a great one to present Indian audience a film on friendship. A film which they wouldn’t have known, a perfect outing for friends in large group or one which you could take your family with no qualms. Definitely worth a watch for the wonderful performances by Karthi and Nagarjuna, which was well conceived by director Vamsi.
