Nayagan and Baasha writer Balakumaran passed away!Popular Tamil film writer Balakumaran who also wrote many classics in the field of Tamil literature passed away earlier today at Kaveri Hospital in Chennai. Balakumaran made his directorial debut with Baghyaraj’s  Idhu Namma Aalu, he is responsible for the hard-hitting dialogues ‘Neenga Nallavara Kettavara’ in Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam’s evergreen classic gangster film Nayagan and the mass ‘Naa Oru Thadava Sonna’ from Rajinikanth’s all-time blockbuster Baasha.
Balakumaran is also the dialogue writer of Shankar’s debut film Gentleman, he also penned dialogues for the director’s Kadhalan and Jeans.

For Thala fans, Balakumaran’s dialogues in Citizen and Mugavari were unforgettable, he also worked in STR’s Manmadhan and Vallavan. Arun Vijay who worked with Balakumaran in Jananam remembered the writer on his Twitter page.

“The news of Balakumaran Sir’s demise is very saddening.. I was privileged to work with him in the film #Jananam which spoke about the then social issues in depth.. his dialogues were so powerful and will always be appreciated and remembered. RIP Sir. Condolences to his family”, tweeted Arun Vijay.
