What is it about: This serves as the sequel to the previous movies of the same series “Kung Fu Panda”. In this “Po” meets his biological father and at the same time he’s presented with the most important task of saving the valley from “Kai” who has been capturing all the spirits of masters around the universe. This sequel is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson & Alessandro Carloni.
Why it’s disappointing: No one can hate this Panda, one of the most loveable character on screen.
What to watch out for: Hollywood is a place where they can make a film which could accommodate the audiences of all age groups and keep them entertained without any problem. And they managed to do this through their animated films, since it took the form of 3D. Kung Fu Panda is a series everyone is excited about, and many got to know and start to love this creature around the globe due to this movie.
In this sequel the makers were really cautious and kept a great mixture of all the emotions intact, which favoured well with the audiences from all walks of life. This is a fantasy and when they make you taste the humour laced with it, becomes the most entertaining one. It runs for a packed 95 minutes with no dull moments and keeps you laughing all the time.
One main factor of animation films are the voices lent to the characters and in “Kung Fu Panda 3” they were apt. And when you add JK Simmons to “Kai” it becomes legendary. Jack Black for “Po” couldn’t be more perfect. This film was more cherishing due to the new characters from Panda village which were absolutely adorable especially the little ones and one specific to add, who picks up the Tigress action figure and Mantis to play with.
The animation was great and the comic strip with 2D rendering in between for flashback was a nice touch. The VFX was amazing which was well matched by crisp SFX. 3D for this film was great and was tastefully rendered not straining your eyes.
Verdict: Once again “Po” saves the day with an amazing movie directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson & Alessandro Carloni. Who made sure not to tamper the essence of the “Dragon Warrior” and kept the dumplings coming in. Definitely worth a watch. Take your little ones, treat them with this flick and laugh hard with them.
