Happy Birthday Deepika Padukone: Deepika Padukone who is born on Jan, 5 1986 turns 30 today. She has also completed around ten years in Indian film industry. She has given blockbusters since the very start of her career. Her variation of films and different avatars she carried on screen is unmatchable when we compare it with any other competitor of her. For a fact, Om Shanti Om was not her first film, it was a Kannada film “Aishwarya” which was a commercial hit in 2006.
Her second film was with none other than SRK which went on to become the highest grosser of the year and earned her Filmfare best debut female award. She later on shared her first on screen space with Ranbir Kapoor in Bachna Ae Haseeno, which was an average grosser at box office. After that, her brilliant performances in Love Aj Kal and Cocktail, both commercially successful made her into the list of Filmfare best female actor’s nominations. Since 2013, her records are reaching sky high.
She initially appeared in her first 100 crore grosser at domestic box office, “Race 2”. Her next release “Yeh jawani hai deewani” managed to shatter many records and earned a whooping 179 crores domestically and 310 crores worldwide. Her casting as Meenama in Chennai Express released on Eid ’13 and went on to become the highest grosser of Indian cinema.
She later on portrayed the character of Leela in Ram Leela as a Sanera, not only earned her wide praise from critics and audiences but also earned her first Filmfare best actress award. Since 2014 she has worked with Rajnikanth in Kochadaiyaan then featuring in “Happy new year” against SRK once again and later on appeared in good content oriented films like “Tamasha”, “Piku” and “Finding Fanny”. Her latest release was an epic drama film “Bajirao Mastani”, which not only successfully managed to beat Dilwale on Christmas and new year’s extended holiday but her role of Mastani also got her worldwide praise from critics, distributors and audiences.
